Getting the most from it
With a puck screen in the basket, drop your dose by about half a gram so the coffee still has room to swell. Our puck screen guide covers that adjustment, and what a screen fixes and what it does not. Seen 53.3mm screens elsewhere? Both sizes fit: 53.3mm or 53.5mm, the difference explained. Every other size for the 54mm range, from baskets to tampers, is in our basket and tamper size guide.
It pairs best with a bottomless portafilter, so you can see the difference on the next shot. Both together cost less in the portafilter and puck screen set.
Not sure this fits your machine?
It fits every Sage and Breville machine that takes a 54mm portafilter, which is all of the home range: Barista Express, Barista Express Impress, Barista Pro, Barista Touch, Bambino, Bambino Plus, Infuser and Duo Temp Pro. It does not fit the Dual Boiler or the Oracle, which are 58mm. Our portafilter size guide lists every model code, and shows you how to check your own machine in ten seconds.
If it arrives and does not fit the machine listed above, the return is free and we pay the postage.
